Our Drive to Zero open days were a huge success in 2024—and for good reason! Across 10 locations, we welcomed 228 customers, giving them expert insights and hands-on experience with the latest in EV solutions.
In partnership with ChargedEV, our specialists provided a deep dive into every stage of the electrification journey, addressing key challenges around ESG, carbon reduction, and fleet transition.
Attendees also had the chance to test drive a range of EVs from leading manufacturers, including urban mobility vehicles.
Understanding your needs to drive EV adoption
Our open days are shaped by insight from our customers, ensuring each event delivers relevant and valuable information. Before attending, customers complete a short questionnaire about their electrification journey, allowing us to tailor the day to their specific challenges and priorities.
The feedback showed that concerns remain over the implementation of electric vehicles, with vehicle choice and suitability as key areas of interest. Two significant questions continue to be asked: Can EVs match or exceed the daily demands of ICE vehicles? And, with unease over the viability of the UK’s public charging infrastructure, what does a convenient EV charging solution look like for my fleet?
Due to the growing impact of the ZEV mandate (and the potential financial ramifications of non-compliance), alongside the government’s encouragement of business ESG strategies - the biggest motivators for a transition to electric were the prospects of fleet cost savings and carbon reduction.
“These EV open days were extremely useful in giving us real time feedback from different types and sizes of fleet during their move to electric. It enabled my team to understand the type of help and support our customers need,” explained Melanie Creedy, Northgate’s EV Business Development Manager. “Everybody’s journey is different, but whatever stage they are at, cost and implementation consistently keep coming up as their main challenge.”
