CHALLENGES
The council have been a Northgate Vehicle Hire customer for many years with 119 ICE vehicles on hire. They have begun a gradual transition to electric vehicles, targeting a fully electric fleet by 2028, to align with the UK government’s zero emission EV infrastructure strategy.
SOLUTION
Having ascertained that they were suitable to make the switch, a tailored solution of 6 EVs was recommended by the Account Manager as appropriate for the amount of mileage undertaken.
The council added 2 Peugeot e-Experts and 4 Renault Zoe CDVs to their fleet.
The inclusion of the Northgate electric vehicles to the council’s fleet has seen immediate results as they benefit from a dramatic decrease in fuel usage and lower maintenance compared to ICE vehicles as EVs have fewer moving parts, thereby saving costs.
